“I stop by regularly as soon as fruit season hits.”
“I have countless times made a trip to this cute, roadside market on my way into or out of town.”
“The best time for a milkshake is when you aren’t planning on having one!”
“One element that makes this store so special is the long line up of hand made wind chimes that gently ring a greeting as you walk through the open front door.”
There is something fun about randomly announcing that its time for a milkshake. The kids squeal with delight and clap their hands while at least one screams in an over exuberant show of excitement. My grandma and grandpa used to take us for a “just because” milkshake and I guess it must run in the blood. The best time for a milkshake is when you aren’t planning on having one!
Skipping the fast food version, we recently made a trek, not far outside the city limits of Quincy, Washington, to a local favorite, White Trail Produce. The milkshakes here are amazing, filled with fresh fruit and yummy vanilla ice cream, my kids all but beg for these when they hear the word “milkshake.”
The big, red barn produce store, with its full baskets of asparagus, potatoes, onions, shallots, and garlic is opened seasonally so spring to mid fall is the time to go! I love that every time I go, I find new produce on display. I stop by regularly as soon as fruit season hits. Confession, I have a severe weakness for Rainier cherries. You know, the yellow ones with a peachy, orange blush. Oh.My.Stars. I may or may not spend a fortune on them.
I have countless times made a trip to this cute, roadside market on my way into or out of town. The tea towels, wine, chocolate, food products, free trade baskets, and heaps of fun lotions and soap items are very dependably stocked and make great gifts! Did I mention the wind chimes? One unique element that makes this store so special is the long line up of hand made wind chimes that gently ring a greeting as you walk through the open front door. I have one in my yard that I purchased here a few years ago. Wind chimes make such a happy sound.
If you find yourself out on the road in the general direction of White Trail Produce, and you haven’t planned to get a milkshake, stop and get one . . . and save me some cherries!
